Jessica Pinto

Meet Jess, a warm and thoughtful psychologist who is passionate about supporting children, teenagers, and families through the challenges that come with growing up. She was drawn to psychology through seeing how important mental health has become, and how powerful it can be to have a safe, steady person beside you when life feels overwhelming or uncertain.

Jess brings a broad range of experience across disability, community mental health, and school settings. She has worked as a Behaviour Support Practitioner supporting NDIS participants and their families, and has supported clients across areas including neurodivergence, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Her approach is person-centred and strengths-based, with a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship. She draws on evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, DBT, and Solution-Focused approaches, tailoring support to each young person and family. A key philosophy guiding her work is the belief that people are doing the best they can with the resources they have, and she meets clients with compassion and curiosity.

Jess has a particular interest in supporting young people and families who are diverse in culture, religion, gender, and sexuality, and she values helping children feel safe to explore and celebrate who they are.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys dancing, reading, playing badminton, and spending time with loved ones.

About Jess

(for kids and teens)

Hey! I’m Jess 👋 I’m a psychologist, which means I help kids and teenagers when things feel tough, confusing, or just too much. Sometimes people come to see me when they feel worried, stressed, sad, stuck, or like they don’t really understand what’s going on inside their own brain. My job is to be someone you can talk to honestly and safely. You don’t have to have the right words, and you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. We’ll work together to understand what’s going on for you and what might help.

I believe everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. That includes you! You might be dealing with big feelings, friendship issues, family stress, perfectionism, school pressure, or changes in your life that feel hard to handle. You might also be exploring who you are, what matters to you, or where you feel like you fit in. Whatever it is, you don’t have to do it alone.

In our sessions, I will always go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll listen, ask questions to help you understand your “why”, and help you learn skills to feel more in control. Sometimes we might use strategies from CBT, ACT, or other therapies, but everything is chosen to suit you and what you need.

Outside of work, I love dancing, listening to music, reading, and playing badminton. My favourite place to recharge is at home, in bed. Fun fact about me, I have seven tattoos!

I can’t wait to meet you 🧡
